Everyone's talking about sustainable energy - we're getting it on track.
We are a company with probably the most experienced employees in our technology field in the world. As a joint venture of Daimler Truck AG and the Volvo Group AB, we are responsible for all activities along the entire value chain for fuel cell systems: from research and development to production and marketing for use in trucks and other applications outside vehicles. The goal is to establish cellcentric as a leading global manufacturer of fuel cells, contributing to climate-neutral and sustainable transportation.
To strengthen our Product Purchasing team, we are looking for a Tactical Buyer (m/f/d) to join us as soon as possible. The team is part of the Procurement & Aftersales department of cellcentric GmbH & Co. KG.
The Procurement organization at cellcentric currently manages an annual purchasing volume in the hundreds of millions of euros and ensures the availability of the respective components. In close partnership with around 1,000 suppliers in Germany and abroad, the necessary materials are provided for the individual cellcentric production plants. We are innovative and diverse in our responsibilities. This means that we are responsible for project procurement, as well as the procurement-side support of all fuel cell components in series production, including the associated capital equipment and services, supplier risk management, and capacity management. The team represents Procurement in all project and decision-making committees. In addition, we work internationally and collaborate with a variety of partners worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of global commodity strategies and identify new supplier markets.
- Develop supplier strategies and select key suppliers with a focus on building long-term strategic partnerships.
- Prepare request-for-quotation (RFQ) documentation and distribute it to the relevant suppliers.
- Prepare comprehensive bid and cost comparisons for sourcing scopes.
- Independently create detailed bid and price analyses for procurement scopes, including the evaluation of cost structures and cost drivers within the commodity group to systematically identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Independently plan and lead commercial and contractual negotiations, including cross-functional alignment, claim negotiations, and ensuring achievement of commercial targets.
- Prepare sourcing recommendation and award documentation and present them to relevant committees and decision-making bodies.
- Support all risk management activities aimed at the early identification of relevant risks and contribute to the preparation of risk reports.
- Drive the tactical procurement process from market analysis, sourcing, and contract management through to the provision of all procurement-related data in accordance with project timelines.
- Continuously report internally on sourcing and project status, including maintaining and updating status documentation.
Experience and Qualification:
- You have successfully completed a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification, ideally complemented by additional commercial training.
- You have several years of professional experience in tactical or strategic procurement or project procurement, ideally in the area of automotive production materials.
- You possess strong negotiation, communication, and contract management skills.
- You are confident in managing supplier relationships and have extensive knowledge of procurement market specifics for automotive components.
- Ideally, you have a sound technical understanding and project management expertise, as well as strong knowledge of MS Office, SAP, and relevant procurement tools.
- You have excellent written and spoken German and English language skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, along with outstanding negotiation abilities, persuasiveness, and a confident professional presence, come naturally to you.
- You complete your profile with a self-driven and goal-oriented working style, entrepreneurial thinking, and a strong awareness of costs and business value.
Benefits:
- We offer you interesting, autonomous and varied activities with corresponding development prospects in a traditional company with a start-up mentality in one of the top future industries.
