We are seeking an experienced Team Lead Logistics Planning & Operations to establish, lead, and develop the complete plant logistics organization for a state-of-the-art fuel cell production facility.

 

Location: Esslingen-Pliensauvorstadt 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disciplinary and functional leadership as well as the strategic development of the Logistics Planning and Operational Logistics teams
  • Responsibility for the planning, implementation, and continuous development of network, supply chain, and plant logistics up to series production readiness
  • Development and implementation of modern digital and AI-supported methods to optimize logistics processes and material flows
  • Management of demand, volume, and inventory planning, including related SAP processes
  • Ensuring on-time material supply for development, prototype builds, pre-series, and production ramp-up activities
  • Responsibility for shortage management, escalation processes, and change management across the entire supply chain
  • Design and optimization of inbound, in-plant, and outbound logistics processes, as well as container and packaging circulation systems
  • Responsibility for SOP and ramp-up planning, including the management of relevant IT processes (SAP EWM/MM/PP, MES) and operational master data
  • Close collaboration with Production, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, and external logistics partners
  • Management of logistics KPIs and identification and implementation of measures to improve efficiency, delivery performance, and inventory optimization
  • Regular reporting to Plant Management and active contribution to the site's logistics strategy

 

Required Qualifications / Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional and leadership experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement within an industrial environment
  • Proven experience in product development, product launches, and production ramp-ups (SOP/ramp-up)
  • Ideally, experience in the automotive industry or comparable technology-driven sectors
  • Strong knowledge of SAP EWM, MM, and PP, as well as experience in designing efficient material flow and logistics processes
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies and Operational Excellence principles; experience with MES systems is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills combined with a solution-oriented implementation mindset
  • High affinity for digital tools, data analytics, and innovative technologies such as AI for logistics process optimization
  • Experience in escalation, risk, and stakeholder management within complex project and production environments
  • Assertive personality with a strong hands-on mentality and a high degree of personal responsibility
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
