As Head of Factory Planning, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end planning and execution of complex construction, infrastructure, and factory projects, playing a key role in shaping and optimizing our industrial operations.

 

Location: Esslingen-Pliensauvorstadt 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead construction and infrastructure projects, including new construction, conversion, and expansion projects, while ensuring compliance with schedule, cost, and quality targets
  • Manage and coordinate general contractors, specialized planners, and external service providers from tendering and contract award through to final acceptance
  • Take responsibility for factory and space planning, considering production, logistics, utilities, machinery, and building requirements
  • Develop and implement layout modifications to support production ramp-ups and capacity expansions
  • Manage authorities, permitting processes, delegated operator responsibilities, and all construction-related documentation
  • Develop technical standards and infrastructure concepts, including capacity planning, expansion planning, investment planning, and standardization decisions
  • Take responsibility for cleanroom qualification in accordance with IQ/OQ/PQ and ISO 14644, as well as the acceptance of the cleanroom environment for C-sample production
  • Collaborate closely with the PSV 2.0 project team to ensure the consistent planning and execution of all conversion and expansion activities
  • Lead complex project committees and provide regular reporting to management and key stakeholders
  • Identify and implement optimization measures to improve infrastructure, space utilization, and project execution processes

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering (with a focus on construction), or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience leading factory, construction, or refurbishment projects in an industrial environment
  • Proven experience in managing general contractors, specialized planners, and external project partners
  • Strong project management expertise, including schedule, cost, and quality management for complex construction and infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of cleanroom planning and qualification according to ISO 14644, with experience in IQ/OQ/PQ considered an advantage
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical technology, or comparable regulated industries is desirable
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with the ability to influence and drive decisions
  • Experience leading and facilitating complex project committees, ideally within joint venture or multi-stakeholder environments
  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style with a high degree of personal responsibility
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
