Intern (m/f/d) in Fuel Cell Stack Simulation

The team "Solid & fluid mechanics and stack layout" is responsible for modeling, development, testing and qualification of components for fuel cell systems from pre-development to series production. The focus is on the development of the fuel cell stack operating strategy and its implementation in different vehicle platforms. The strategies are developed in close cooperation with modeling and international partners.


Responsibilities:

  • You develop a spatially resolved flow model of a fuel cell stack in GT;
  • You model and investigate the behavior of the fuel cell stack after system shutdown and calibrate the model based on test data;
  • You expand the model to resolve additional physical effects;
  • You support the optimization of the system operating and shutdown strategies;
  • You create simulation plans and perform parameter studies;
  • You evaluate measurement data as well as simulations, interpret results and document conclusions.

 

Experience and Qualification:

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, electro-chemistry or a comparable course of studies;
  • You are experienced in using GT and MS-Office;
  • Ideally you have experience in fluid mechanics, electrochemistry and multi-physics system simulation;
  • Your strengths include commitment, ability to work in a team, independent work, analytical thinking, initiative and good communication skills;
  • You love to work in an international environment and speak English as well as German;

Proof of current enrollment in a degree program with outstanding exams is required. 

 

The position will only be filled full-time for approximately 6 months.
