The BPM team in the Processes & IT department sees itself as a business partner for all departments in the planning and implementation of new IT platforms, a competence hub for DATA & AI and business processes. As part of the data strategy, the Team develops and implements a platform for data processing and thus enables the generation of data products. To strengthen and scale the team, you will be part of the DATA & AI platform group.


Responsibilities:

  • As a data engineer, you develop, implement and maintain modern data infrastructures in the cloud based on a state-of-the-art tech stack in Microsoft Azure. This infrastructure enables the connection of new factories for the series production of fuel cell units using IoT as well as existing MES, ERP and PLM systems;
  • You are responsible for the implementation, maintenance and expansion of data pipelines in close coordination with the data engineers, data DevOps engineers and data scientists. In addition, you support the optimization and monitoring of cloud resources;
  • You are jointly responsible for the design and improvement of the Azure IT landscape - this gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of cloud services and always stay up to date with the latest technology;
  • You integrate, extract, transform and visualize data from different company IT systems for further processing by the specialist departments and users;
  • You identify and optimize data processing methods in terms of time, costs and quality and provide recommendations for action regarding the use of analytics solutions for data-driven decisions;
  • You lead small to medium-sized projects with internal and external partners using classic and/or agile methods;
  • You motivate, guide and train users in the integration into the data platform work environment and their problems.

 

Experience and Qualification:

  • You have successfully completed a degree in computer science or a comparable STEM subject with a strong IT focus and 2-3 years of experience in a comparable position;
  • You have extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with databases, data pipelines, cloud computing, big data and DevOps. Several years of experience with Python and SQL are a prerequisite and you generate a high level of methodological competence from this;
  • The existing Data&AI platform is based on a lakehouse approach with Apache Spark, Unity Catalog and Delta. Experience with Apache Spark is required;
  • Experience with connecting data sources, especially SAP, is an advantage;
  • You are familiar with data processing from different sources and are familiar with different solution patterns, preferably using cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP);
  • You are enthusiastic about the projects you work on and enjoy teamwork. Your decision-making skills allow you to take on technical leadership and mentoring;
  • You have the ability to develop creative solutions for abstract problem descriptions and solutions from them.
